Service Account Clarification

On Page 133 of my book, there is a picture of the Specify Configuration Database Settings screen.  In it, we suggest that you use the SQLService as the account for the connection that will run the Application Pool in IIS.  What this means is that the account that should be used is an account with dc_creator, dc_security in SQL as well as local admin rights on the SharePoint box.  What is not being suggested is that you use the SQL Server's own service account. These are two different accounts.  Please email me, bill@mindsharp.com, if you have questions.

Windows Internal Database

<sigh>  Just remember that sometimes, they call the SQL Server Embedded Edition (SSEE) the Windows Internal Database.

Office Clients and SharePoint Integration

There is a white paper that descibes how Office 2003 and Office 2007 interact with SharePoint Server 2007.  You can download this paper from Microsoft's web site.
